Distance Learning Service
The Distance Learning Service (DLS) is a free and confidential service, designed to fit learning around the needs of an individual’s life. Learners can study online by themselves or work with a tutor over the phone. You can find out more about our DLS here.
Blended Learning
Blended learning supports the student to learn through delivery of content and instruction via digital and online media with some element of student control over time, place, path, or pace. WriteOn has been used by over 180 different centres nationwide in a blended learning context.
WriteOn uses a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) tool that uses assessment to allow learners receive qualifications for what they have previously learnt but never received formal accreditation for. This RPL tool is available at Level 2 and Level 3.
Accreditation Process
QQI accreditation is available on this website at Level 2 and Level 3. We run two rounds of accreditation a year in June and December. We will submit all applications to the QQI and send the certificates to the centre or learner when we receive them. For more information on accreditation round dates email distance@nala.ie.
QQI standards and outcomes
The National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) comprises 10 levels ranging from initial learning (Level 1) to the most advanced learning (Level 10). The learning outcomes for all awards on Write On are taken from the relevant award type descriptors which can be found here.
All of our available teaching and learning resources are available to download at resources.writeon.ie. You can filter the resources by subject, topic and level. Additional teaching tips and other recommended websites and apps are available at www.nala.ie/tutors.
